Gingham

Hey all,
It was a crazy week last week. I planned on posting on Sunday afternoon, but I ended up going to the movies with a couple of friends to see Beauty and The Beast (unbelievably amazing), and had an assessment to finish. So, I didn't get around to it.

This week I thought I'd show you on of my favourite pattern styles. Its a standard Granny Square but the colours are worked into a gingham pattern.

I got the idea for this pattern from BetsyMakes. I saw her pattern for a red gingham blanket and fell in love with the idea.

The border is along the same lines as the one used by BetsyMakes but its a few rows less.

I love the different shades of blue. It looks so lovely and cosy.

I do have plans to make a giant gingham blanket for myself, in red, like BetsyMakes. But it's going to take forever. I figured out size wise it will be 525 squares! So, that is my next gigantic work in progress. Hopefully my hands are up to the task!

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I'm Sarah. I am a complete crochet addict. I try to crochet at least an hour or two a day. I love the designs, and the colours! I love that a I can create something so cosy and beautiful out of a piece of yarn!

I have been meaning to start this blog for quiet awhile now. But, not going to lie, the whole idea of a blog was a little intimidating to me. But, no better time than the present :).

I have been crocheting now for about 2 years, and almost instantaneously fell completely in love with it. I have already made quite a few projects that I will get around to showing you over time. The first I will show you is a blanket I made for a family friend as a present for a new baby. It is quite simple but I love the bright yellow and how the green ties it all together.

About what I crochet, I have only just really started creating my own designs. So, I mainly take other peoples patterns, or styles, and make them (I will always ensure to link to their websites or Etsy stores when I do this). Hopefully I shall soon be churning out my own patterns for others to enjoy and create!

Well, it's time for me to get back to more crocheting now,

I will have another post for you sometime soon,

💗 Sarah
